Would you like to learn a new craft? Perhaps you are a beginner, and don’t exactly know where to start. Maybe you are already accomplished, but need to brush up on your skills. When I first got back into crochet it took me awhile to decide what to make first. I had not done crochet in many years, I even purchased books, looked online, and soon after, I came across several websites, all catering to every skill level in crochet and knitting. I learned a lot from these sites, and now I would like to share them with you. I promise you, you will be crocheting and knitting like a pro, in no time! Let’s get to it!
Crochet And Knitting Tutorials, Plus Patterns (All levels)
Moogly – Tamara is simply awesome! She has an insane amount of patterns and tutorials on her page. You could say that she is one of the most well know fiber artists out there. She also has a ton of video tutorials. I highly recommend this site if you are a total beginner. There is just so much to see and learn. One of the patterns I really like is called “Weekend Weather Afghan“. It’s big, it’s fast and perfect for any type of weather, and the SQUISH! Check out her page and follow her on social media.
Heart Hook Home – Ashlea has a wonderful website. Her crochet tutorials are perfect for those who are starting out, as well as those who are brushing up on their skills. She also offers many fun and free patterns for everyone, including video tutorials. I do recommend her “Easy Peasy 30 Minute Beanie” pattern. This particular pattern is the one I tried when learning to make beanies. Does it take 30 minutes, it really depends on your timing. Check out her page and be sure to follow her on social media.
Make & Do Crew – Jess has many crochet tutorials and free patterns for all skill levels. Did I mention that she also provides video tutorials. Her patterns are listed by type (Garments, Blankets, Accessories, etc.) which make it easy to find what you’d like to make. She also offers patterns by holiday/season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, etc.). One of my favorite patterns of hers is her “Urban Gypsy Boho Bag“. This pattern is perfect for those of us who love that Bohemian (Boho) vibe. Perfect pattern to start with, if you need a challenge. Check out her page and be sure you follow her on social media.
Daisy Farm Crafts – Tiffany has many crochet stitch tutorials, and tons of crochet blanket patterns, perfect for every level of crochet. If you want to learn a new stitch, then you need to check out her page. She also lists her patterns by type, so you will definitely find something new to try. One of my favorite patterns of hers is the “Crochet Boho Puff Stripes Blanket“. It’s got a lot of texture and of course that boho vibe. If you love puff stitches, then this is definitely recommended. Check out her page and do follow her on social media.
BHookedCrochet – Brittany has both knitting and crochet tutorials for every skill level. This may be the only site on this list with knitting tutorials, but I promise they are plenty! She also lists patterns by skill level, season, type and she even has a prodcast! Lets not forget video tutorials. One of the patterns that I am itching to try, as a beginner knitter, is “Giant Knit Blanket For Beginners” it uses bulky yarn, and it’s perfect for practicing those knitting stitches. For crochet I am looking into making “The Medley Crochet Basket” because, why not? We could all use a yarn basket, or two. Check out her page and be sure to follow her on social media.
